Vietnamese Style Steak

Ingredients
  • 4 Wyndhams Steaks
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Cornstarch
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 Chopped Red Onion
  • 1 Bag Salad Leaves
  • A handful of fresh basil
  • A handful of baby tomatoes
  • 50g Cucumber
  1. In a medium bowl, stir together the sugar, cornstarch, garlic, fish sauce before seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. Chop the steak lengthways into thick strips and add to the bowl. Leave the steak to marinate at room temperature for at least 20 minutes. The longer you leave the meat to soak up the flavours, the more the dish will tantalise your tastebuds.
  3. Whilst we leave the steak to marinate, in a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar with a dash of water and season with salt and pepper. Add in the onion and top with the salad leaves and toss in the tomatoes, cucumber and basil.
  4. Add a dash of oil to a large skillet and pop on a high heat. Once the oil has heated through, add in the steak and cook to your liking – if you like your steak rare, we suggest cooking it for around 5 minutes just until it’s seared all around.
  5. Remove the steak from the heat, give the salad a good toss and transfer onto plates before diving in and enjoying!
